For nearly a century, the progress of Washington National Cathedral was measured by the pace of construction, stone by stone. After the last stone was set, many believed philanthropic support was no longer needed. To build awareness for the future needs of the Cathedral’s religious, cultural, educational, and community outreach programs, a capital campaign was launched using the themeline “The Last Stone Is Just the Beginning.” This capital campaign brochure conveys the true work of the Cathedral, offers compelling reasons for support, and helped the campaign exceed its $26 million goal by more than $1 million, which positioned the Cathedral for serving the nation’s needs into a new century.
