In 1896, University of Chicago professor John Dewey challenged the educational system to abandon the conventions of rote learning and investigate, inquire, and experiment. Today, the Laboratory Schools continue to bring Dewey’s vision to life by challenging students to think critically and act intelligently and ethically. Lab takes these challenges seriously but was in need of financial support. This capital campaign brochure offers a compelling case for support and helped Lab meet its goals for funding student scholarships, faculty development, and the construction of an addition to its Middle School.
